The Third Page of Stained Glass Windows of Mt. St. Peter Church

The following excerpts and descriptions of the windows come from the book, "Mount Saint Peter,"
written by Fr. Nicola Fusco in 1944

"There are, in the nave of the Church, sixteen windows. Having in mind our loyalty to Truth, we decided to portray in them subjects with which our people were most gamiliar.  Hence we chose some of the greatest Saints of the Church."

(Click on the "thumbnail" picture on the left to see a larger view.)

Window 1 - from Sanctuary, Gospel Side.  St. Robert.
Window 2 - from Sanctuary, Gospel Side.  Mother Cabrini. She is about to be canonized. The innumerable hospitals, schools and asylums built by her in this Western Hemisphere for the Italians have won for her the title of "Mother of the Immigrants."
Window 3 - from Sanctuary, Gospel Side.  St. Charles Borromeo. Here, too, we have departed from the traditional pictures of the Saint. We have preferred him in the act of lending aid to the vicitms of the bubonic plague.
Window 4 - from Sancturay, Gospel Side.  St. Philip Neri. The founder of the Oratorians. Wolfgang Von Goethe called him "my Saint." We have protrayed him in the act of playing with the children of the Oratory. A boy and a girl from our Sunday School - William Bonatti and Carol Christopher - posed for this picture.
