St. Anthony Guild
Founding Member of the Legacy Society
The St. Anthony Guild is an organization of women whose mission is to serve the poor and disadvantaged of the community, while enjoying good fellowship and spiritual renewal in their work.
The feast day of our patron saint, St. Anthony of Padua, is June 13th. We take time to honor him through a 9-week Novena starting in April and concluding in June with a Mass and reception.
In 1939, Monsignor Fusco, with 33 women of the parish, began the St. Anthony Guild. In addition to the special needs of the parish, the Guild's members volunteered their time and talents to support the St. Anthony Orphanage in Oakmont.
The Guild currently consists of 50 members.
Meeting Location: Marble Hall
Meeting Frequency: 7:00 PM on the third Tuesday of February, April, May, August, September, October and November.
We join together as one body for Mass and Brunch during the season of Advent and Lent.
Description of Meetings:
The meeting includes prayer and the discussion and planning of various projects centering on acts of charity to the needy of the parish and the community.
We are very proud of our dedication and concern to the nursing home and homebound members of our parish thru the distribution of decorated bread at Easter and fruit baskets at Christmas.

Betsy's Back to School Basics
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton dedicated her life to education. In her honor, the St. Anthony Guild began the Betsy’s Back to School Basics campaign on 2009. Backpacks filled with school supplies and shoe gift cards are distributed to 60 children at Mary Queen of Apostles, Martin, and H.D. Berkey Elementary schools. In addition, K-Mart gift cards are purchased for these buildings. They are used at the discretion of the Nurse when an emergency need arises in the life of a student. This project is funded by our annual February Cash Bash raffle and through the generosity of our parishioners. To date, the campaign has totaled over $17,440. The Guild is blessed to have the opportunity to carry on in the image of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. More details.
Celebration of Women
The Guild also sponsors the Celebration of Women (click here to read more) in October where women are honored for their service to the church community.
This year, we will be celebrating our 11th year paying homage to all the women of our parish. This special event welcomes women of all ages in our parish and allows them to come together in worship and communion. A heartfelt presentation recalls all those women past and present who dedicated their life in service to church and community.
Tree of Angels Campaign
The Tree of Angels Campaign (click here for more information) in December has raised thousands of dollars for children in need.
