Members of the new Pastoral Council for All Saints and Mount Saint Peter Parishes have begun to chart their course for the coming year.  Immediate projects include developing a communication plan to keep the members of the parish informed about the work of the council, and to provide parishioners with opportunities to meet and talk with council members.

Council members will gather for a retreat day in January to pray and to reflect upon the  document, New Wine, New Wineskins, which outlines the diocesan model for parish pastoral councils.  Following this retreat, council members will begin their important work of pastoral planning - articulating the goals and objectives that will guide All Saints and Mount Saint Peter Parishes for the next several years.

St. Peter Church for 20+ years and is the webmaster for www.mountsaintpeter.org

Tammy’s dream for Mt. St. Peter Church and All Saints Church is “that we continue to grow together as a parish community to help each other face the many challenges ahead. I hope that we can remain strong in our faith and dedication to keep our assemblies active and alive as we pass the pride and beautiful traditions on to the many generations to come.”

Bill Kennedy

Bill is a native of Mt. Pleasant and his wife, Stephanie, is from Lower Burrell. They met while attending Grove City College and later were married at Mount Saint Peter. Bill and Stephanie have three children in the Kiski Area School District, Ryan (13), Brent (11) and Eric (7). Ryan and Brent are Altar Servers. Bill is Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Chromalox, Inc., headquartered in RIDC Park, Pittsburgh. They reside in Allegheny Township.

The Kennedy’s have been attending Mount Saint Peter since returning to Pennsylvania in 1991. Bill became a member after completing the RCIA process approximately 5 years ago. Bill looks forward to serving on the Pastoral Council and hopes to build upon the rich history of the parish. He also looks forward to working with and meeting the members of Mount Saint Peter.

John Mandak

John was born to Martin A. and Maria Bugoni Mandak on December 9, 1955. He grew up in New Kensington, and has two children, Anthony, 18 and Anna, 10. He has owned and operated Valos Chocolates in Arnold since 1989.

John has been a lifelong member of All Saints Parish in Arnold. “It is my hope that All Saints and Mount Saint Peter Parish can continue to serve their parishioners and become a spiritual outpost to reach out to the needs of the community at large.”

Margaret Mazak

Margaret lives in Arnold and has a daughter & son-in-law living in Michigan and 2 sons living in Washington state.  She has worked in healthcare for forty years and is currently working at The Willows of Presbyterian Senior Care in Oakmont.

Margaret is a third generation member of All Saints Parish. “I am hopeful that the combined council will be able to effectively and efficiently address those issues of greatest importance to the members of both parishes. I also hope that our new partnership will build on and enhance the strong foundations both parishes have established in the past.

Jim Palochik

Jim is a graduate of St. Vincent College, Latrobe, PA. He is a former captain in the US Army, a Vietnam veteran, and has served as a combat assault helicopter pilot (1969-70). He married to Karen Kucinski Palochik 37 years ago and has two grown children: Jimmy and Susan, and four grandchildren: Laura, Cody, Stasha, Christian.  He is Director of Construction Services for RIDC and has spent most of his career in the office/ residential/ commercial/ industrial development and construction business.

Jim’s immediate family has been a member of Mt. St. Peter’s for 34 years and his parents are life-long members. My hopes and dreams are simple: “to help build Mt. St. Peter into a strong parish while holding to the principles and values of our Catholic faith and helping to foster and instill stewardship to our fellow parishioners and the community at-large.”

Frank Rapp

Frank lives in New Kensington with his brother John and their adopted cat Fredo. His sister Nancy Brock and her husband Mike are also members of the parish along with their children, Lauren and Natalie, as well as other members of his extended family. Frank works in Pittsburgh as a lawyer.

Frank has been a member of the parish since birth as have his immediate and extended families. He is a lector at Sunday Mass. His hope for the future is that “we all deepen our faith, grow in our love and service of the Lord and develop eyes to see Christ in each other and those we encounter on our journey.”

Maria Tallarico

Maria Santarelli Tallarico was married to Patsy Tallarico here at Mount St Peter's 38 years ago. They live in Lower Burrell and are the proud parents of two sons, Frank and Mark. Maria is a graduate of Clarion State University. She has taught in the New Kensington-Arnold School District and was Preschool Coordinator and Speech Therapist for United Cerebral Palsy and the Westmoreland Intermediate Unit. Maria finished her career as the Education-Special Education Coordinator and Supervisor for Armstrong County Head Start.

Maria has been a parishioner of Mount St. Peter for forty years. During those years our church and Catholicism globally have changed. In Matthew’s Gospel, Jesus says: "Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened and I will give you rest". The challenges for us are numerous, fiscal balance and responsibility, meeting the diverse spiritual needs of our parishes and providing services in the future as the number of priests decreases are just a few. We shall face them, find strength in each other as we problem solve, then we shall rest knowing that our parish community will serve our Lord and each other joyfully.

Patty Tosto

Patty and her husband Frankie Tosto are proud to be lifelong residents of Arnold/New Kensington. Patty has been working in the employee benefits industry for 25+ years and is currently employed by Strategic Employee Benefit Services of Pittsburgh, Inc.

Patty is very grateful to be a member of Mt. St. Peter Church since birth, and has thus far received all of her sacraments here. “With respect and appreciation for the people, resources and traditions that have made Mt. St. Peter the parish and school that that we enjoy today, I pray that we can use the talent and treasures of today's parishioners to continue flourishing both spiritually and financially, as we strive to guide our younger generation to embrace their Catholic faith in a secular world that offers far too many distractions.”

Suzette Venturini

Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Suzette attended Corpus Christi Grade School and Sacred Heart High School. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh in 1976 and Master of Arts in Leadership and Liberal Arts Studies from Duquesne University in December 2004. She married her husband Bill in 1994, and moved to New Kensington. Suzette works at Catholic Charities for the Diocese of Pittsburgh as the supervisor of community resources for the Refugee Resettlement Program.

Suzette has been a member of Mt. St. Peter Parish for the past 12 years.; “My hope for the future of Mt. St. Peter is that we can work together to reach out to those who feel they have not had the opportunity to become involved in ministries of the parish; that we can extend our benevolence to those outside of the parish who have felt alienated; and that we can provide ongoing spiritual enrichment for parishioners and others in the community."
